Question for FEHB retirees with Medicare

Post by LaurenRose »

For FEHB retirees:

When you began to receive Medicare services, which advantages did you notice? what disadvantages did you notice?

Any details, regarding parts of Medicare and any other points and info, are much appreciated. If you continued to use FEHB for certain products and
services, please explain?

Lauren, I have been using Medicare A/B and GEHA standard for years and am very happy.

Medicare A and B with Aetna Direct. Since then--many years--have paid zero out of pocket for A/B services since Direct is the secondary. Whether the Medicare/FEHB combo is financially worth it is an individual situation thing in my opinion and has been discussed often in other threads.

Never an issue so far with providers accepting it. No issues with pre-authorizations, which if needed, are extremely quick.
