NY Taxes if Permanent Home in Norway and Leased Apartment in NYC
NY Taxes if Permanent Home in Norway and Leased Apartment in NYC
I own a home in Norway, which is my primary residence. I live there 180 days each year. I'm retired and travel internationally +/- 30 days each year. I live in a rented apartment in NYC for the remainder of the year (< 184 days) and sublease when not in NYC. What does this mean for taxes--city and state?

At a minimum, you should not owe property taxes as you do not own the NY apartment.
Perhaps you need to pay part—year resident tax on capital gains and dividend income?
In NY, you avoid tax on like the first 25k per person for retirement account withdrawals, and social security is also not taxed
