starting new 401k plan, seeking mutual fund advice

Post by robiu977 »

I am starting a new 401k plan with Employee Fiduciary with the launch date in July. Soon I will have the opportunity to make the investment options for myself and my employees (currently 12 of us). Target retirement funds are a given, but what other funds should I look into? With EF, I was told that I can pick just about any existing mutual fund out there. I would love to hear peoples' wish list for funds they have, or wished they had, in their 401k plans. Of course I'd prefer to keep things relatively simple and low cost, but at the same time, I would like to offer a few options for those who may want some actively managed funds. Is DFA still a popular choice? Dodge and Cox? Thanks!

I'd prefer my 401k to offer target date funds, or the choice of various index funds (S&P500, small cap, international, some bond options) that are low cost.
