Wells Fargo POA
Wells Fargo POA
Hi just gave an update on Wells Fargo procedure. I called in and the representative told me that they accept outside lawyer drafted POA, and their estate department will review and process it. There is no other internal POA form for me to fill in. I remembered the thread a while ago saying Wells Fargo refused to use outside attorney drafted form, so things have changed? I live in CA and not sure if the resident state matters. Anyone else have different experience?
Re: Wells Fargo POA
You may be better off showing up at a branch and just filling out the form. My mom live in CA, and I just show up in the branch with my mom and just requested POA. They initially attempted to add me as a co-owner, an option which I refused. They then call a few people. We then sat for about an hour while they input our information, took some ID and then printed out some forms. Afterwards, my mom and I signed the form. I then tested it by calling Wells Fargo a few weeks later to make sure it's working.
If you can't go to a branch with the person, it may still be possible to do it remotely.

Thank for sharing your experience. What form did you fill in? Right now, I am still able to manage. I am just trying to find out if there is paper work that I need to fill in as principle, so that by the time I become unable, my attorney in act would be able to access the acct.gavinsiu wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 6:52 pm You may be better off showing up at a branch and just filling out the form. The form is titled "Consumer Deposit Account Relationship Change Application", the lower corner has the label "DSG8720 (5-22 SVP)"
