The CARES Act removed requirement to take RMD. CARES Act passed around April 2020.
I took RMD in January 2020 from Vanguard TIRA. I returned the RMD around July 2020 to Vanguard.
Vanguard produced a 1099-R showing I took RMD.
How will I handle income tax return ???

Process it as a rollover. Have been several threads on this.
When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.
