Money Market on 1099-B with odd message

Post by Katietsu » Thu Feb 13, 2020 11:32 pm

I had cash in BlackRock Liquidity T Fund Cash Management for a couple of weeks last year. I thought this was considered a money market and would not be reported on a 1099-B. Well, each transaction of 4 transactions are listed on the 1099-B as non covered transactions. Additionally, there is a message below each stating "Transaction not reported to the IRS Client may be required to file on their tax return."

When I imported the tax statement, these transactions were placed on the 8949. I plan to just leave them there. There is no gain or loss, of course. But, can anyone explain why these are listed in this way? And, under what circumstances would it be required to include on the tax return?
