Central Texas Health Insurance options for 2020 - what are you all doing?
Central Texas Health Insurance options for 2020 - what are you all doing?
I live in Austin. I have Oscar insurance (a bronze plan) and they informed me they are eliminating their HSA plans for 2020. What are y'all doing for 2020, especially those who want an HSA option? I don't qualify for any subsidy.

San Antonio ( MFJ mid 30s ) was bummed about Oscar plans not being HSA compatible.
only 1 HSA plan available through Ambetter but was $168 more/month so Sticking with Oscar plan. rough math did not add up getting HSA compliant plan. ( Planning to just invest the $7100 + $2500 in Brokerage account to compensate for Tax reduction). Not a big fan of Ambetter so just sticking with what we had for 2019.

There were multiple Oscar plans but I picked the least expensive one Silver Bronze.

3 options I see have HSA.
Yelp and BBB reviews show Oscar and Sendero were hard to get reimbursed and HMO network is very narrow with lower quality providers.

Ambetter seems to be a nightmare as well. [viewtopic.php?t=294131]
All representatives are almost impossible to get through. You know you need them to follow up on the frequent billing mistakes admins make.
What is deceiving is that even if the insurance companies' directory shows that certain doctors are in-network, when you call to verify the doctor, they deny it. Try it. Isn't this false claim or marketing?
What's worse is that some hospitals/doctors say they are in-network, but after learning that you carry an ACA plan, they say they don't accept new patients or are fully booked for the year.
What's the point of insurance when one can't get admitted or reimbursed?
Below are the 3 HSA plans available. Which would you choose?

Did you make a decision and how was your experience dealing with Oscar representatives?

I haven't signed up yet but will probably go with the cheapest Oscar bronze plan, which covers 100% after deductible (the deductible is very high).craiggsean wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 4:58 amDid you make a decision and how was your experience dealing with Oscar representatives?
Which healthshare were you looking at? With the current trend of health insurance prices, it will be unaffordable within 10 years, and a healthshare might be the best option.
