PA tax question

Post by LOLC2k » Thu Nov 07, 2019 10:59 pm

Hi there. I have a side business that I run from home. While the federal deduction for non-reimbursed mileage is kaput, the state allows it still. My question is, assuming I did business that day at home, is the commute to my W-2 job then deductible (not both directions, obviously). I know between workplaces generally is, but checking because the PA website is pretty sparse when it comes to specific information, especially between a 1099 and a W-2 job.

No. You can not deduct mileage driving from job 1 to job 2 for PA income tax purposes unlike the old federal mileage rules.
