using Apple iWatch with non-Apple iPhone

Post by bondsr4me » Wed Sep 11, 2019 7:37 am

I am curious if anyone is using the Apple iWatch paired with a non-Apple phone.

If so, do you have any issues with compatability?

I am considering replacing my iPhone 6s Plus and I am looking at ALL phone choices; not just an Apple iPhone.

Thanks to responses.

Only works with an iPhone.

You won’t be able to pair it with non-Apple phones.

my wife got a 'deal' on a iWatch 2 years ago. She thought it would be useful alone and would pair with her Android phone.

I ended up buying her an iPhone (lot of dough) just so that she could use the Apple watch.

The watch came in very helpful last December on a long flight. It alerted her to her racing pulse (up to 150)... due to dehydration and other issues. I've gotten her a Kardia band to take EKGs on demand and she wears the watch almost exclusively now...finding its usual Apple features and phone integration useful.

OTOH, there are other "smart" watches so you may find one you like that pairs with Android.

Thanks to all who responded...appreciate it very much.

We will probably stick to "all Apple products"...they do play together very well.

p.s. but I do really like my Surface Pro 6 too!!
