Southwest Credit Card?

Post by Gardner's Son » Sun Apr 14, 2019 9:29 am

I believe there was a topic string on Southwest Credit Cards. Can someone please direct me to it?

If it's not the first one or two responses when I put a term in the search box, I give up.

In any case I just dumped my SW card - the $99 one, which wasn't a good deal now that the superior ($149 - but actually cheaper) card is out. Actually the old card was only good for the bonus or for very frequent SW travelers. I don't know how long I have to wait before reapplying for the new card.

There was a discussion about the companion pass deal, which I think has expired (not sure - and don't care since there's no benefit to a companion pass for me.) The last I looked the bonus was just points, which is what I'd want.

It’s a good deal for the initial points or companion pass, but after that there is no reason to keep it as the chase reserve and preferred have better earning on points and transfers to southwest are 1:1

Presumably this list would be helpful: https://www.google.com/search?sitesearc ... redit+card

The first item is also one of the references suggested by bob60014.

I know the old card actually cost money to hold but the new one might not depending on how you value the annual points. Very occasionally there were offers of extra points on the SW card that exceeded the value I would get from the other Chase cards (which I don't have yet), although possibly not if you want to use the travel portal, etc. etc.
