Phone Tmobile 140/month 4 lines unlimited text and data. Data slows down after 4G or something like that.

Our internet/cable is 90$ for high speed internet plus limited HD channels. We miss a lot of channels I like such as HGTV, but have HBO

We could have a free "landline" with our cable package, but we bought our own modem saving monthly rent, but no phone capability.

Comcast 250 mbps Internet
Basic cable (probably about 50-100 channels? I don't turn it on) plus HBO
$78 including taxes and the ridiculous made-up fees they tack on.

I would do Internet only in a heart beat, but it would actually be more expensive than Internet + Cable.
I just about never use the TV channels, although we do occasionally use HBO Go (streaming HBO) since it's included.

Internet: Oceanic cable 300mb (no data cap) 39.99/mo

Phone: 2 mobile lines ~100 USD /mo via Verizon.

Would love to lower the phone bills in the future. However it seems every time I qualify for a discount or deduction, those random taxes and surcharge fees increase to cover the difference real quick.

We use Google Fi for cell phones which costs us $20 for the first line, $15 for the second and $10/GB for data (only the amount used). We typically use less than $5/month for data and taxes and fees are about $8 so total charges are less than $50/month for cell phones.

This is interesting, what has been your experience with Google Fi say compared to the current major players? The pricing scheme seems reasonable, my only concern is Google has a nasty habit of starting these projects, getting folks hooked, then abandoning them.

I think AlohaJoe lives in Vietnam. According to this https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/c ... ry=Vietnam cost of living is low. https://www.contentedtraveller.com/gett ... d-vietnam/ gives an example of about $9 for unlimited data.

All in (after taxes, fees, "because-we-can fees", etc):

Internet / home phone, $73.21 (AT&T Uverse)

Mobile, $67.95 (Consumer Cellular, two lines of unlimited talk and texting plus 5 Gb data)

By phone I assume OP means cell phone. For that we pay ~$225 per month (for four lines, newer iPhones and ~30GB per month of data).

In terms of internet, for us that is bundled with cable TV and landline. Personally, I’d just as soon as get rid of our landline, but it is actually cheaper for us to get a triple play (cable, internet and phone) than just buy the services a la carte. Our cable bill (with Comcast) runs ~$215 per month - and we have I think the highest internet speed they offer residentially (~200Mbps download). I hope one day we can buy only the individual channels we care to view (and that will be cheaper than buying the bundle). However, right now the bundle is the cheapest option, providing the channels we desire.

$55 a month for 300gb capped Internet from Cableone
$60 a month for 2 lines of unlimited talk, text & data from TMo (55+ plan)
$1 a month for 2 Googlevoice/Obi land lines ($12 a year for 911 on 1 line)
We ditched cable and put up an antenna for TV.
No regrets.

$12/mo for 4G phone with unlimited talk and text, 5gb data (own phone)

$0 for unlimited internet 100mbs up/down (company pays, but would be about $20/mo)

$24 for Netflix and Hulu
$15 for HBO Go

$120/year for Amazon Prime

I'm American living in Romania, which has some of the best internet on the planet, at a good price.

$122 for Comcast landline/internet/cable - 2 year contract

We use our landline a lot for everything.

$40/mo for Verizon FIOS (100Mb /100Mb)
$47/mo for two lines on a (larger) T-Mo business plan.

I also help my other fam members save money on their cell phones, and generally end up going with discounted RedPocket 1 yr plans vis Ebay. One person is on a plan with 5 GB of data monthly (paid ~$205 for a year) and the other person is on 1 GB of data monthly for ~$130/yr. We stick with a native T-Mo plan as we heavily use int'l roaming, so having a data connection whenever you land abroad is worth it to us.

Internet: 64.99 Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable). Up to 100mbs.

High, I know, but I cant bundle it as we don't have traditional cable or phone. They are the fastest in our area and pretty reliable.

Internet is free Google Fiber (5Mbps). Phone is two T-Mobile lines of unlimited talk, unlimited text, unlimited data (throttled after 2.5GB) for $41 after taxes and fees. No TV service, but we have Netflix for $8.54/month after tax.

Internet with AT&T is $62/month

Phone with AT&T is $101/month - however this is heavily discounted from original price (57% off via discount) and is for 4 lines, so my wife and I pay $50.50/month and her grandparents pay their half)

I'd love to get cheaper internet. I use the AT&T modem. I'd like to get my own but my friend who is into that kind of thing always recommends these $400-$500 modems (Nighthawk something something).

There's the free version at 5Mbps, the $50/month version for 100Mbps, or the $70/month version for 1Gbps. You can also get TV service for $50/month, but you have to have a paid version of Internet for that to be available to you. I've had my Internet go down twice in the ~4 years I've used them, once due to router failure and once due to a jack failure. The only downside is the router settings are stored "in the cloud" rather than in the router, so you have to log in via your Gmail account to set up port forwarding, etc.

About $145/month, all in, including NetFlix HD, but no cable, only Over The Air TV.
Half of that is Internet due to limited competition.

50 Mb internet,
Vonage for landline (cut about $25/month off using Phone company, and got unlimited long distance in N. Amer.)
3 phones. 2 TracFone Iphones, and 1 Google Fi. My wife likes her iPhone, I have the TracFone for business, Fi for business, and sometimes use it as a hotspot (TracFone can't be used as a hotspot)

I'm in the process of trying to move from Vonage to ObiTalk w Google Voice. It works OK, would like
to port the home number.

My wife is on the fence about moving to Google Fi.

50Mb internet is needed to avoid data cap overage charges from 2 TV's streaming NetFlix in HD. It was cheaper to upgrade from 15Mb, that to pay the overage charges.

T mobile over 50 plan, 1 line = 50.00 unlimited
Use the phone as a hotspot for internet use: email, bogleheads, news articles. No problems.
Cancelled my land line so that is it. Live near city so have many over the air tv channels.
Same here on the phone; pay $15 for internet although kinda slow. I can get a lot of antenna channels, but that doesn't mean there's always something to watch. Really miss the PBS channel that moved out of range . . . . Would willingly pay a bit more for faster internet, but it's all "bundles" and taxes and . . . well over $100 bucks a month for unlimited stuff that I don't need or want.

Use your phone as a hotspot? Do you mean just surfing and email or downloading media to your tv or computer over the 4G?

Cell phone is $140 for tmobile, 4 lines with 6GB LTE then withdraws from our unused pot.
Home phone is free using google voice and obitalk.
Cable TV + internet is $120 for 30mbps. We will cut cable which will bring it down to around $70 after NBA playoffs.

We share a family plan with my in-laws. Total bill is $160 for 4 phones (this includes a discount through my wife's employer). We reimburse my in-laws $100/month, and each have iphones.

For DirecTV and ATT internet, we pay $92/month.

So for cell phones, television and internet, we're at $192/month.

Internet: $40/mo for 25 mbps cable (promo pricing for first 12 months, but I'll be "moving" after that)
Phone: $100/mo for 4 lines on grandfathered T-Mobile Simple Choice plan
I also participate in a grandfathered T-Mobile plan with $100/mo for 4 lines and additional 1 line for free. It is my parent's account with myself and sister for the initial 4 lines and my wife was later added as the free line so essentially I have 2 lines for $25 with unlimited text/minutes and data plan

No landline - see above

Internet/Cable is included in HOA
