Health coverage is changing up between my company and my spouses company. I am moving to my company's coverage and my spouse is staying with our child with her company. We have FSA with spouses company under a plan year that end 6/30/18(we will stop FSA as well) I will take coverage with my employer 7/1/18 and opt for the high deductible plan with HSA. My spouse will remain with her company but without the FSA.
Question is, can I do this FSA shut down 6/30 and HSA start up 7/1 in the same tax/calendar year. Tax rules are for tax year (CY) and our healthcare changes are FY based which runs July-June.
