A Decade of work and planning (by the #'s)

Post by clutchied »

So I just realized this year was my 10 year anniversary of my professional career.

I had a late start @ 27 and I'm 37 now. I'm married so these are combined numbers.

Income from 75K -> $230k
Investments from 0 -> $320k (Could have done better)
Investment property from 0 -> 6 "doors"
Net worth from (32k) to $810k

Most of our income growth has been in the last 4 years.

Things I would have changed:
1. Maxed out my retirement accounts earlier
2. Not cashed in my Roth for a rental property
3. Not waited as long to have kids
4. Should not have put off getting my license for so long
5. Bought used cars instead of 2 new cars in 2008 and 2012.
6. Consumed less which we are now donating in droves...

I generally feel pretty good about where we are and 2018 is going to double down on Emergency funds and building a rental payoff fund @ VG.
