At what age did your net worth increase more than your gross income?

I didn’t want to hijack a recent similar thread.

But I do like frivolous accounting, and some things catch my eye. I realized a few weeks ago, that my net worth will likely increase more this year, than my household gross income. For heavy savers, this may happen at a young age.

I’ll go first. God willing on 12/31/17, my net worth will have increased more this year than my gross. I’m 41. I think effective tax rates will also factor in, so in an effort to keep things apples to apples. Last year our effective tax rate (federal) was 29%. We have always been pretty good savers, but our gross income took a big jump in my early thirties, and again a jump a couple years ago.

Happy holidays.

Stock market return is not stable. So you cannot really make a meaningful comparison.
