Any Turbo Tax Deluxe or Premum deals out there?

Post by island » Sat Feb 27, 2016 6:01 pm

I need Turbo Tax Deluxe (maybe Premium), the online version. Has anyone found a good price or discount for Fed and State? Got the Vanguard freebie past couple of years, but they no longer have that.
Thank you.

Wage thru 7 pages of moaning over the loss of the freebie? Hmmmm.
I'm hoping someone has a quick and current answer to my direct question. Thanks.

Penfed.org had a deal ($20 off I think). You do not need to be a member. Link used to be at the bottom of front page unless they moved it recently.

If you start on p5 most of the moaning is over and the discussion turns to options for purchase for TT as well as alternatives. Most frequent suggestions for low cost TT were Amazon, Sams and Costco.

Google "Fidelity Turbotax" - $20 off for all!

(Just started taxes on Friday and seems to be working for me.)

Snagged Deluxe with efile and 1 state for $38.30 on ebay yesterday, cheapest I could find but it is silly to sweat saving a couple of bucks one way or another.

I've seen info that if you open a banking account at State Farm you can get a deal. That was a month ago and I don't know if this info is still valid. I personally do not want to open another account for this type of deal but you may want to look into it.

You must access the link after signing into the banking account. If you have an insurance account it will not give you the same deal.

I have been getting coupon offers regularly for about $20 off. Try this:

If you have a Fidelity account, it was free for some clients. Not sure if the deal is still in place.

TDAmeritrade had a $20 off link from my account there. I had already started turbotax this year, but logged in after using that link and the discount was applied. It brought the Deluxe price down closer to Tax Act's price, close enough that I am not letting price be a factor in which one I use.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

If you are a State Farm Bank customer you can get Premium with both Fed and State filing for a total of $20.

State Farm bank has been providing free/discounted TurboTax to their customers for as long as I can remember. I've had $100 with them for many years now. No fees. Hassle free process.

Note: I'm also a IRS VITA volunteer. Any return that is "in scope" is free.

The standard offer seems to be "up to $20 off". This is what you'll get from Fidelity or PenFed. Pricing:
* Deluxe: $25 online or $50 download
* Premier: $40 online or $75 download

If you have a State Farm bank account, you get:
* Deluxe: Free online or $20 download
* Premier: $20 online or $30 download

I don't like the idea of having my tax info online, and I also like having a copy of the software available to run in the future, online or offline, so I've always bought the download (or equivalently, CD) version. It was worth it to me to open a State Farm bank account ($25 to open, no fees) to get the $30 price for the Premier download. I just verified that this offer is still available through State Farm.

Really? Yet you file online?

How confident are you that your software provider (Intuit, H&RBlock, whoever, ...) is not keeping a copy of your return?

I run the tax software on my computer. I print out my return and mail it. My data never goes to Intuit.

There is a 50% off Federal deal on now.
I bought online Premier for $27.49 and online State for $36.99 (total $64.48).
It's a far cry from the $0.00 I used to pay but for now I divide $64.48 by the number of years I didn't have to pay and it's not so bad.

I am sorry I didn't get to your question until now. The 50% off is good for a limited time through today (3/8)
