Is that the full download version? Did you get a state with that?

I obtained the Flagship $0 Premier on Monday. The desktop download version with one state. Of course, the state doesn't include the filing fee.

At this point in time, it's an incomplete version of TT. A fileable return can't be created due to the IRS not finalizing forms yet. Its good enough to generate a draft return and estimate a 4th payment.

Yes I got that email also. But do I get back the sale tax I paid also? It didn't say that. Would be odd if they don't refund taxes paid also.

Yes, it's the Premiere downloaded version.

yes, me too. we always got the deluxe and it did stocks and cap gains and loss carryovers just fine. but this time it was not possible. you can see the form and pull it up but cannot enter data and have to go through the interview format. so i got the premium and now also the refund. nice.

Doesn't appear the Jan 9 date is for Premier for Flagship clients. Jan 9 seems to apply to online TT for non-Flagship clients.

Flagship. I requested a refund from Intuit last week when it was posted here that VG was now offering it for free and I had paid 9.99. Received email from Intuit dated the 5th and notice that my CC showed refund including sales tax when I looked early yesterday.

I didn't receive an email or any other notification, but I do see a refund dated Jan 9 on my credit card.

I'm flagship, and originally purchased the downloadable version of Premier for $9.99 on Dec 10 (I was not charged sales tax). Interesting that Vanguard is still charging $9.99 for the online version.

I contacted Flagship by phone Thursday 9/8 . Premier online will be $9.99 until 9/9 and then is going up, not known by how much. Premier download will be free for flagship with no change anticipated. Looks like a charge by TT for storage for online.

Really? An extra charge for a few MB of data? Is that the official justification by Intuit or was it a guess by whoever you talked to?

It was a guess on Vanguard's part and mine. Maintaining storage is the only difference between ONLINE and DOWNLOADED

Can you clarify? Is 9/9 actually 1/9, i.e. Jan 9th? And prices will go up for this year's prices? Doesn't make any sense to me... I would imagine the rates they advertised are effective for this year. First, you can't pay until you e-file or print, and Jan 9th is too early for anyone to get that price. And if we started the process and continued working on it for a week or two, and then they jack the price, that is sneaky even for Intuit.

Not shaping up to be a good tax season - a crippled IRS along with the leading tax software vendor committing a major strategic gaffe that is morphing into a major PR gaffe as well. Adjusting fees may eat up most of the profit Intuit projected from the rate increases they actually collect.
