You can receive too. Get a Google Voice number, then assign "Google Talk" as one of the "phone". Now if you call from gmail, your Google Voice number shows up as your caller ID. That's the number that what DW and I have been using. No one really knows my actual pre-paid cell phone number (except my wife) which cost me $25 every 3 months (AT&T GoPhone). The same for DW. Even that I have too many minutes keep rolling over that I don't know what to do with, but the numbers expire every 3 months if we don't buy more minutes.
