How could the T-shirt logo NOT have John Bogle somewhere? He is what we're all about. :D

I would buy more than one to help support the site! Great idea. :dollar

A few years ago , for Christmas, my office staff gave me a sweastshirt with www.diehards written on the front.

I think they were implying I should spend more time working and less time on that website.....Doug

Upgrading to the new forum software also meant that the artwork and site logos had to be upgraded. We decided to get the forum itself running first, artwork and graphics to follow later.

It's a lot of effort, and Alex Frakt is working on it. I'll see if I can get an answer on when he'll be done. Hang in there.

The wiki's artwork didn't need to change for the upgrade.

Cafepress?

Easy to do, decent merchandise, not much work on the part of the organization offering it. Design the image, upload it, choose the items you want. Their free deal restricts you to one design per item type, i.e. you can't offer a small mug with each of three different images.

But I've never heard of any organization making much money out of it. You choose the markup, but the base prices are fairly high to begin with, so if you choose a small markup you don't make much (CafePress gets $18, you get $1) and if you choose a hefty markup the items seem grotesquely overpriced. Wikipedia tried it, circa 2003 or 2004 or so, and gave up on it.

The big thing, though, is it's practically zero commitment. And very little work to offer short-sleeved shirts and long-sleeved sweatshirts and baby's bibs and women's zip hoodies and mugs and mouse pads and canvas bags and earring heart charms--just check 'em off.

One thing: if you go that route be sure to pick out the offerings item by item; don't make the mistake Wikipedia made. Someone checked off "all clothing items," or something like that--and inadvertently found themselves offering Wikipedia thongs.

How about the logo on the case of the iphone? J/K My wife is looking for a case for her iphone so it got me thinking, I'm way to cheap to pay for a data plan on my phone :D

Anyways, I would definitely buy a couple of t-shirts.

Actually, there was a logo designed by one of our members when this forum was initially started. It incorporated the caricature of John Bogle as it appeared on the cover of the " Bogleheads Guide to investing".

I've been telling my friends to use the Bogleheads Amazon link for everything they buy from Amazon and hopefully with the holiday season upon us some of them will remember to do that and the site can get some support that way. I'd be in for a tee shirt as well............

As a true Boglehead I would only purchase a Boglehead Tee shirt if I actually needed a new tee shirt. As of today I have a supply of at least two dozen worn tees and another dozen of unworn tees.

I'll probably be in the market for a new tee shirt about 2025 or so. Is it too early to place my order? 8-)

I was wondering if the shirts were going to be coming off the printing press anytime soon?

I would understand if it's on hold with the annual meeting coming up, or will they start selling at the meeting?

One idea for a fun thread would be to ask the forum what kinds of things they'd like to see written on the shirt, along with the cool logo and the website address.

Could get pretty funny / clever.

"My ER is lower than your ER." Too obscure...

"My index fund beat up your actively managed mutual fund." Too confrontational...

 I'm sure if one really wanted one one could design ones own, and pay for it. The I'd buy this type or I'd buy that type I've experienced w/other monthly meeting clubs, people that actually interact other than orally with each other. We'd usually end up giving many away loosing money, but had the budget to absorb the shortfall. Just saying!
