Post by HotRod140 »

Hi All
Looking at the 2024 Maverick Hybrid Lariat. Does anyone have one and more importantly, how is the Ford Hybrid system. Thanks in advance

The Car Care Nut on YouTube recently reviewed these trucks. You may find it helpful.

I've an almost 3-year-old Maverick Hybrid XL, which I bought because I liked our 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Both use the same proven eCVT technology, which is far superior to the old belt-driven CVTs. Both provide good acceleration and about 40mpg.

I just brought my Maverick to the Ford dealer to have them address a bunch of recalls while I'm still under warranty; this was the first time I've brought either vehicle to be serviced. (I do my own oil changes etc.)

If you wait for a 2025 model, the Maverick Hybrid offers an AWD option, which I assume will work as well as the on-demand AWD in our RAV4.

I'm a happy Maverick owner, but I'd like to set your expectations... my XL was $22,000 including delivery and an optional trailer hitch, which was a remarkably good price in the pandemic years. If I were to pay $40,000 for a top-of-the-line Maverick today I might be more concerned about the quality of materials, which are basic. I think dealers are willing to negotiate price now, which was not the case when I ordered mine in 2021.

I have a 2025 Hybrid Lariat on order, waiting for a job 2 build this winter to get all the new features. You can peruse the Maverick forums to answer just about any question you have on it... https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/

Regarding the hybrid systems... some folks have reported upwards of 60MPG in ideal driving conditions, getting nearly 900 miles to a tank of gas. Most are getting close to the advertised mileage however.

Thanks for the advice, It looks like this would be a good addition to a homeowner with small projects. Easy to park and great gas mileage, if you use it for what it is intended to do.
