Electronic signature

I have a document that I need to sign electronically. I am ignorant as to how to do this if it's not already part of an embedded program.

Tips? also, I need to backdate (no, no worries about that part,please) - if programs allow this?

Are you able to print the document, sign and scan the signed document to a PDF?

You can do this in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once you've opened your PDF, go to Tools->Fill & Sign.
