Verizon and ATT outage

Post by rkhusky »

Heads up that Verizon and AT&T are having network issues. Two of our phones are showing SOS only, two others are working.

Ugh. Just landed from flight and no cellular. Same situation when we were in Paris in July.

My phone is showing LTE.

I’d enable wifi calling if you haven’t already.

I live between towers so this is my normal mode, no service

I tried that and it said to contact Verizon to enable it. Not critical for me, so I won’t bother their CSR’s.

My Verizon phone was "SOS" only 2 days ago and I re-booted the phone and it was back to normal.

If two networks are having problems where you can't get signal, I would bet on a fiber cut somewhere. In more remote portions of the country, there really is no fiber diversity -- and remote can be a broadly interpreted term depending upon geography.

AT&T is saying their network is fine and that their complaints are probably their customers trying to reach Verizon customers.
