Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
Need to move modern things bezel LED TVs across a house. We do not have the original packaging. They already have the stands installed.
Any advice on how to handle? Was thinking of using gloves, but not sure if white cotton, nitrile, latex, or something else would work.

You can touch the screen with your bare hands. Just clean it afterwards.

Re: Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
When we moved our OLED super-skinny flat screens, at least one hand went under the bottom, the bottom 1/3 of the height has all the electronics, speakers, connects etc. That's pretty tough plastic, I can't see casual carrying scratching anything. If you are worried, I would use my favorite cheap garden gloves - the ones with something plastic/vinyl on the fingers and palms so you don't slip or drop the TV, and they are knit on the back so they are comfy. I can't see this being a white glove issue. These things are tougher than you think. Home depot has this in ghastly orange cheap.
Salvia Clevelandii "Winifred Gilman" my favorite. YMMV; not a professional advisor.

I just use bare hands, but would otherwise use cheap work gloves, gardening gloves, dishwashing gloves, or if I didn’t already have those things at home, I’d just tear up an old t-shirt. Whatever isn’t filthy.

For just moving it across the house pick it up and put it where you want it. Clean it with ammonia free glass cleaner after to remove the smudges.
Or latex or nitrile gloves would work great for this, if you have a Harbor Freight close by they sell them for less than anywhere else I've seen.

These would work perfect! You can get your groove-thing on while you work too.

If worried, just use clean towels.

I dont understand the need for gloves.
Re: Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
I suggest hospital exam-type gloves; a good idea to give you a better grip and help guard against dropping if it's real heavy. We just used them to hang our 77' TV...and they work for getting tight lids off jars too.

Can you elaborate on the concern? Is it smudging the screen? Breaking it? The weight?
I would just pick it up and move it (carefully) without a second thought so I'm not entirely clear what you're specifically worried about.

OP posted "...Also my partner has rings that cannot be taken off so gloves of some sort are needed."
Rings could possibly scratch.

I would consider getting the ring issue taken care of.

Rings that can’t be removed can become a medical emergency if the hand or wrist is injured.

I didn't realize special gloves were needed for this. I learn so much here.
Re: Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
I just use latex gloves when handling my TVs.
Are they required? No. But it's a heck of lot easier to slip on some cheap disposable gloves than to deal with all the fingerprints later.

No gloves are needed. If you really care, wrap it with trash bags. Life is hard enough.

Pickleball helmets last week and now gloves to move a television.
I can't wait for next week.

Re: Gloves for moving thin bezel LED TV
Along with grippy gloves, I wear clothes with no metal buttons or buckles like sweat pants and toss a moving blanket over the screen.
People say nothing is impossible. I do nothing all day.
