Celebrity Cruises offers pickleball

Post by tennisplyr »

Noticed that Celebrity now has pickleball on some cruises. Was wondering if anyone has taken one of these or has plans to. Seems like it would be appealing to many.

We just sailed on Holland America Rotterdam last month and played Pickleball while onboard.

I expect that many lines will be adapting space to support Pickleball along with other activities.

Have been on 3 Celebrity ships this past year and all 3 had pickle ball courts. The ships roll out 2 nets onto the enclosed basketball court. Fun playing on the top deck of a moving cruise ship. Paddles and balls provided.

Also many Princess and Royal Caribbean. Pretty much any ship with a basketball court now offers pickleball.

I played pickleball on Royal Princess two weeks ago.

Would not want a stateroom directly underneath a pickleball court!

Probably noisier when they are playing basketball up there.

We had a stateroom right next to the (outdoor) jogging track. Somebody when running every morning @ 6:30 :annoyed

Played Pickleball on Allure of the Seas last summer. They had a couple hours per day set for open play, with 3 courts.

So it is obvious why the OP cares based on their avatar. However, I have a hard time understanding how this is important to most people on a cruise?

- Isn't it easy to have access to this at home?
- I normally avoid ships big enough for pickleball
- Seems like ports and size of ship would be the most important

Unless I was training for the pickleball olympics or I was on a repositioning cruise with limited port stops. :D

I’m very picky about stateroom location on cruises. They generally aren’t like hotels were you can request a new room if there’s a problem.

Pickleball is very, very hot right now...has more utility than a basketball court, I think.

I was on Wonder of the Seas a few weeks ago, they too had pickleball.
