Song recommendation for office holiday video
Song recommendation for office holiday video
Hi All: I am planning to get a professionally designed holiday video to send to my clients as a year-end holiday greeting. SOme themes I will add are:
1. Thank clients for their business in a tough year that 2020 has been
2. Have a theme of optimism and hope for 2021
3. Share some photos of my team members -- all working from home (we are a healthcare analytics Consulting firm)
Do you have a song recommendation that fits these themes? I could use simple instrumental holiday music but wanted to check if someone has a recommendation for a song.
Thank you,
AA.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey would be pretty funny, depending on your business and clients.
“the Christmas Song (ie chestnuts roasting on an open fire)” by Nat King Cole is one of my favs

Another thought (in terms of appropriateness for this troubled year). "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" from Meet Me In St. Louis. Preferably sung by Judy Garland.

"I’ll Be Home For Christmas" could be worked in.

I think you should probably avoid sending out anything to clients that is associated with religion.
I'd try to find a theme that is seasonal (winter, solstice, hope in the new year) or something that can be appreciated by all. Maybe a message of gratitude or peace.

Not Christmas songs, but when we did a similar video for the office ( almost all female ) we used Thank You for Being a Friend, and In My Life (Beatles). Not a dry eye in the house.

If it's in the northern temperate zone and it often snows in winter, then I'd suggest Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride," with or without lyrics. Energetic, spirit-lifting, and broadly associated with the season--at least in the US. Probably without lyrics, or only a short snatch of the them in case people don't "get" that it's about a sleigh ride:
Personally, I happen to think We Need A Little Christmas is exactly right for 2020, but it wouldn't really work. It is carefully secular but it does unequivocally say "Christmas," and the real message is so guardedly optimistic--we need a little Christmas because we are depressed right now!Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing, ring-ting tingle-ing, too,
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling "Yoo hoo"
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness; Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.

"Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You" by Billy Squier. Upbeat song, and if you can pull it off, you can get a laugh by showing the MTV VJs from the early 80s (see Youtube for that)
Side note - all these Christmas stations woefully underplay that song.

It's "Stay" the course, not Stray the Course. Buy and Hold works. You should really try it sometime. Get a plan: www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Investment_policy_statement

There are copyright restrictions/royalties due for using many songs for professional purposes. Please make sure you're reimbursing the artist for their contribution to your marketing materials.

+1. This was always my policy when delivering client messages/gifts during the holiday season. While your intentions may be good, you stand a good chance of offending a client inadvertently.retiredjg wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 8:15 am I think you should probably avoid sending out anything to clients that is associated with religion.
