Car Gals/Guys --- Tire Shine

Please recommend your preferred tire shine. Must be a spray application. Cost not particularly relevant. Thank you.

Do not use them, they just spray crap all over your car.

If you do use them, make sure they don't have alcohol - that can dry out tires.

I don't know about now, but many years ago, it was widely recognized as being the shiniest out there. But it was relatively pricey and didn't last long.

I now use Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel with an applicator while I'm wearing disposable gloves, so there's no mess on me. It stays shiny for at least a week and still looks good for at least two.

This stuff is awesome. Water based and matte black finish (not the super wet look).

Several years ago, Black Magic was notorious for turning your tires brown if you didn't keep using it (the formula may have changed, I dunno) I like the wet look, but also like my tires to be black when product isn't on them.

+1

Clean them and enjoy the beautiful matte black.

Make sure the gel is water based. There are a lot of great products out there these days and you'd be hard pressed to find something that doesn't please. Spend a little time on the detailing forums, they have a wealth of information: https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/

I've been using Stoner's More Shine lately and it's been pretty solid. You can also use something like 303 Aerospace Protectant or PERL, but the latter is a liquid.

I like the way people that don't use it - like to chime in and "help". I've done it for years - never any problems with my tires.

I use the Mequiars purple stuff - with a sponge applicator and gloves - works like a champ and smells really good. I wouldn't spray anything on as it goes all over the place.

I haven’t had any of the issues mentioned above with the Black Magic foam - the foam is water based while other products in their line are silicone based.

As mentioned, there is no shortage of products out there that will work - try a few and decide what you like.

Is Armour All still a universal detailing spray that works on tires as well as interiors?

I've always preferred oil-based products on exteriors and water-based products on interiors. For the latter, I've been Chemical Guys Inner Clean Interior Detailer for a couple of years and really like it. It's not very shiny (I personally can't stand a super shiny dash, especially in bright sun), and it cleans well and has UV protectant.

Bought some Meguires at Costco in a spray can. Works well and dries fast. I went back and bought 9 more cans, 3 3 packs
