Mattress for Side Sleepers

Post by RMO87 » Sat May 23, 2020 8:59 am

We are finally deciding to replace our old (2003) latex mattress. I've been doing some online research and have been reading some good things about DreamCloud, Winkbed, Purple, Casper, Sleep Number, etc. Many have 100-night to 1-year free trials, but do any have actual stores to see them in person? I believe I read that Mattress Firm has the Purple brand. Any recommendations from happy owners?

Thanks in advance!
Ryan

We are both side sleepers, We have had Sleep Number as our beds for over 20 yrs. Never going back to a traditional mattress.
I have back issues, Sleep number feels great to me.

Suggestion... get the plain Jane sleep number with no topper. Buy your own Topper if you want one 3 or 4 inch memory foam type.
Cheaper and replaceable that way.

17 years is great, why not get another latex mattress if you liked it for most of that time?

We have a novaform from Costco and are side and back sleepers. Comfortable, affordable, comes rolled up to your door with a return policy.

I just purchased the Puffy mattress and their claim is it is perfect for all sleepers. I'm a side sleeper and it is the best mattress I have ever slept on. It is a memory foam mattress, but you do not sink in it nor do you get hot. It truly is like sleeping on a cloud. It has a lifetime warranty (I'm not really sure how that works), but it is really wonderful. I will never go back to a spring mattress. On my old mattress I was waking up with aches and pains and after the first night of sleeping on Puffy I did not wake up with the aches and pains I was getting so used to. P.S you can only buy this mattress online and it comes in a box. Don't let that scare you off, it is awesome!!

I just checked Costco.com and they have at least 5 different Novaform beds ranging from 10" to 14" and some have gel and some don't. Too many choices!

$3000 dollar high end mattress, hypo allergenic, 2 inch pillowtop or something like that.
3/4 inch plywood sheet on my side. 1/2" sheet on DW's side.
Flex lathe board platform bed system underneath.$$$

Works wll for flat and side sleeping.

Tried the various "foam" based beds. Either toxic, outgassing, too hot, or no support.
YMMV

Side sleeper here. Several years ago we got a latex with very firm lower layers and a very soft top layer. I don't think I could ever return to a different type of mattress.

YMMV as sleep comfort seems to be very individualized. Good luck with your search.
