Does Amazon have free movies? I thought you had to buy Prime to access movies, no?confusedinvestor wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 2:08 pm Folks,

Amazon recently added most (all?) of the Bond movies to Prime.

Great choice!
If you like the Dawn Wall, try "Meru" on Amazon Prime about a team of climbers attempting to summit the shark's fin on Mount Meru in the himalayas.
Unbelievable on Netflix. It's a miniseries about the hunt for serial rapist. Really well done, based on a true story. Excellent performances by Toni Colette and Merritt Weaver (Nurse Jackie) who play the two detectives.
I think HBO is making some of their content subscription free for the next 30 days.

I just finished season 3 of Ozark on Netflix. Excellent show. I'm in season 2 of Better Call Saul on Netflix and have enjoyed it.
On free prime I recently started watching Travels By Narrowboat. Probably not everyone's cup of tea but I've been enjoying it. I like the serial show The Boys but I think they only did one season of that. I've also watching James May Our Man in Japan.

Can't decide if the storytelling of "Dawn Wall" or the sheer intensity of "Free Solo" (on Hulu) is better, but they are both must watches.DSInvestor wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 2:23 pmGreat choice!

Presently watching Ken Burns - The Dust Bowl. Seems relevant to today. Poor environmental practices, greed, speculation, poor people, collapse of economy, haves/have nots.

We had missed "The Sopranos" when it originally aired. So we watched it (2-3 episodes a night) for a good six weeks or so. Great acting, great series of course. And interesting to see how much ground it broke, and how it influenced later long-form TV series like The Wire, Breaking Bad, MadMen, etc. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Now we are watching "Number One Ladies Detective Agency" on Netflix, which takes place in Botswana (HBO). Charming series. Beautifully styled.
Just finished "Unorthodox" on Netflix. Very fine short series about a young woman who leaves her Orthodox (Satmar) Jewish community in Williamsburg NY and ends up in Berlin. Also excellent.
Great stuff available. The Golden Age of Long Form TV.
Enjoy! Rus.
(enjoying a Quarantini)

Also on Prime: The Americans, all the seasons. Absolutely amazing TV series. First 2 seasons of Veep are also free on Prime, another favorite of mine.

Understand that choosing an HDHP is very much a "red pill" approach. Most would rather pay higher premiums for a $20 copay per visit. They will think you weird for choosing an HSA.

Along these lines, in case anybody hasn’t seen, HBO has released several of their shows for free steaming through their app. Including all seasons of VEEP. I got lucky cause I watched the first two on Prime and can now finish through their app.
Re: What Amazon Prime (free) movies y'd recommend ?
This is not a movie, but Amazon Prime has an 8 part documentary named "All or Nothing" which is a behind the scenes view of the 2019 Philadelphia Eagles season. It shows the inner workings of an NFL team and is very well produced.

There are several seasons of this. Most of them are with NFL teams, but there is also one with Michigan U football and another with a European League soccer team.

I was scrolling through listings on Prime Video yesterday and took a peek at the trailer for Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief. Interesting to see how different (and quite 'over the top') movie trailers were back in the day.
I might watch Stagecoach with John Wayne - it's been a long time since I have seen that classic.

Not on Amazon Prime, but I signed up for HBO Now (free 7 day trial, then $14.99/month) and just finished watching Chernobyl. Really good. Highly recommended. Wow! If you get HBO, you may want to check out "From the Earth to the Moon" about the Apollo space program.

Re: What Amazon Prime (free) movies y'd recommend ?
Not all free but been watching Marvel Avenger Universe movies in chronological order as opposed to release date, makes more sense this way. Always fun to see where Stan Lee pops up and also after the movie the trailers after the credits are must see. Just finished Capt America Civil War so a few more to go. My favorite is Guardians if the Galaxy, funny and the sound track is awesome.
