Went to Costco this morning (in CO) and they had TP stacked to the ceiling. Our local grocery store had plenty also.

Still not much flour. I think when the shelves are sparsely stocked it triggers shoppers to buy whatever is there.
Thinking of going to Costco early senior hours next week. Haven’t been having much luck at other stores.
We have TP but wouldn’t want to run out of it.

Also disinfectant spray.
Not sure if they have odor free unscented?

Update:
Costco senior hour was packed and hazardous. Long lines too. No TP. Better luck just going to Wallmart and supermarkets and small stores as needed. Also not as busy and better social distancing.
Surprised that quite a few seniors at Costco had no personal protection to consider others. Oh well.
Made a good haul but will pass on Costco going forward.

Southern CA costco Friday at noon. 10 minutes to get into the store, had plenty of Charmin TP, and multiple brands of paper towels. Also back in stock with rice, beans, pancake mix flour sugar. The only thing that they didnt have was lysol spray or wipes.

No issues finding paper products (tp, Kleenex) at my local Target. They have whiteboards outside listing what they do/don’t have so you can see before going into the store.

My Costco had real Clorox this morning! Check out clerk said she thought it would be gone before day's end. It's Costco - I had to buy 3 bottles. My neighbor was happy to take one off my hands.

Lowe's had Clorox wipes and small bottles of hand sanitizer.

My friend says Walmart has all of these things easily in stock. She was not impressed.

We did a Costco run during senior hour last week here in bay area. Long lines waiting to get in (but people spaced pretty well), but not too bad inside due to the limits. I think I'll go back to avoiding the senior hours, though, as I don't think the stock was any different and there was more of a crowd. We haven't bought TP since Nov or Dec, and still have about six weeks worth on hand (the stock in the back of the closet had crept up on us), so we haven't been checking.

Most things are in pretty good supply around here now, but a few are short. Dried beans, rice, and flour are a little erratic. I wouldn't mind having some more hand sanitizer, but we go out rarely so what we have will last us a while.

What time of the day do you go? I have not found any paper (tp, towel) at any of the stores I have visited (wholefoods, nugget, target) in my area for weeks. I am afternoon/evening shopper, though. Never tried going there first thing in the morning or at least within a hour or so. I hear that is pretty much the only way to get some.

At my local Target have heard via neighbor that they restock on Fridays. Maybe going on a Friday late morning or early afternoon might help.

I had to go in urgently for infant formula and went in coincidentally on a Friday afternoon. They were restocking then and was able to get a couple of boxes.

Kroger has finally added TP to the click list, now called pickup. Limit of one 12 roll pkg.
I will add it to my next order.

Also Amazon Hand sanitizer... it seems Amazon is releasing a few pks of hand sanitizer ever hour or so, I assume to stop someone from buying them all.
Took me 3 days of consistent refreshing the screen to finally get an order 4 bottles of germ-x 32oz per bottle $18.
After tax about $2 per 12oz. Which is about normal price.
Many times I clicked and tried to order and even though it went into my cart, by the time I clicked order, poof sold out.
Persistence.

DW took a trip to town to pick up horse grain, yesterday.
5 stores looking for TP. Able to get 1 pack at 1 store. Drat!

Score:
Safeway - 0
Walmart - 0
Costco - 0
Big Lots - 1

Will try again this coming week.

The recorded message (at least at target) says they do not give product availability info on phone.

We have been unsuccessful ordering online. You may want to think outside the box in terms of stores. We were able to find some at a small organic market and local independent hardware store whereas none of the usual suspects (Target, chain supermarkets, Wal Mart, etc.) have had any in stock any of the times I have been there.

Keep checking online intermittently throughout the day at Amazon, Walmart and Target. I was able to order a package of Scott’s toilet paper from Walmart.com last night. Local stores have been pretty much wiped out for 5-6 weeks.

I just called local grocery this morning and made trips to target and Walgreens. None of them had any.

We have no problem buying TP at Walmart and other stores here in upstate NY. But we can only buy Kleenex one or two boxes a visit at Walmart.

Hmm, good point! I was thinking about colds, but the season is out.
Anyway, TP can be used instead, I assume.

TP is now harder to get a hold of than facial tissue. Fortunately I made a BJs run in early March and bought a jumbo package of my preferred TP brand. I still had half jumbo packages of paper towels and facial tissue. Too bad I didn't think to buy a multipack of Lysol wipes at that time. :(

BJ's (upstate NY) had 36ct Scott toilet paper yesterday morning. The store overall seemed fairly well stocked. Plus a large display of Kleenex and hand sanitizer.

TP can be a little rougher on the nose, which is a disaster if you're blowing your nose a lot.

Latest news on toiler paper, shortages easing: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heal ... SKCN22A30A
The average U.S. household - 2.6 people - uses about 409 rolls a year, according to Georgia Pacific, maker of Angel Soft and Quilted Northern. It estimated that staying at home 24/7 would boost that by 40 percent, and that a two-person household would use nine double rolls in about two weeks.
I find this an unbelievable amount of usage. Or at least it would certainly be for our household.

yeah holy moly

As a single guy I probably used about one roll a week... that amount probably quadrupled once my wife (then-gf) moved in with me. Still, we’re nowhere near 409 rolls a year.

Maybe their definition of a “roll” is 75 sheets or something?

I think there's some roll-size shenanigans at play there. Theres just no way a family of 3 (rounding up) can use more than a roll a day even without stay at home orders! Using 40% more than that now? No way.

You do know the average "roll" you get these days is 545 rolls = 1 MEGA roll.

Check Amazon a couple times a day, I've ordered several times in the last month. It goes in and out of availability and that's the name brand stuff sold direct from Amazon not the weird stuff being drop shipped from China.

Do I understand correctly that you have ordered toilet paper several times in the last month?

I guess we are lucky, 12-pack at Kroger on March 31st was $8.29 and we probably won't need it until July.

I was at Home Depot at about 6:30 this morning and they had individual rolls of toilet paper. I have seen toilet paper being offered in several stores lately. I don't know if they were available later on in the day. I always shop early - the stores have just been cleaned, shelves stocked and they are quite deserted.

I have a decent supply and if I see it anywhere I buy a package, never the max allowed, only 1. Anyhow I was browsing online and exploring various online companies. Recently bought stuff from boxed.com for the first time. As a single guy my needs are minimal and used to only deal with Amazon.

While browsing Walmart for stuff I saw they had some TP for delivery so I ordered a 12 roll pack. After the order I got an email saying it was delayed. No surprise. But I got it delivered today. I think I ordered it Saturday. Not much of a delay. In the past I’ve seen it available as a pick up but never tried that.

Keep looking, it is hit and miss. At boxed.com I got a big pack of paper towels that arrived quickly along with a larger than anticipated package of Animal crackers 😀

Are people still having trouble finding toilet paper? We've bought from Amazon several times over the last month and have never had any issues. I see it literally everywhere. I didn't know there was still a shortage.

We’re currently having spot shortages of various things at various stores, but generally, we can get everything, including the wily and elusive hand sanitizer, without too much searching. Usually not every brand, but something is available. Central San Diego.
Yes, I’m really that pedantic.

The toilet paper shelves have been empty at one of my local grocery stores everytime I've gone inside for the last 6 weeks. I generally go late in the afternoon or early evening and I live in central Florida.

You do know the average "roll" you get these days is 545 rolls = 1 MEGA roll.
Yeah I haven't seen normal sized rolls in years. The article says a 2 person household would go through 9 doubles every 2 weeks. Or 234 in a year. At 4 rolls/week, that is 208. That estimate sounds like it is the ballpark. And heck even doubles are hard to find these days. Most are 3 or 4x.

It is definitely showing up a lot more. Figure in another couple weeks people will stop buying ever roll they see cause they have 100 at home and the stuff will start sticking on the shelves..

Realistically that shopping pattern is going to be the last to see TP. You will need 8+ hours of supply for any to be on the shelve when you show up.

We have no problem buying TP at Walmart and other stores here in upstate NY. But we can only buy Kleenex one or two boxes a visit at Walmart.
I have never bough Kleenex in my life. What's its use?
You obviously are not an allergy sufferer!
Hmm, good point! I was thinking about colds, but the season is out.
Anyway, TP can be used instead, I assume.
TP can be a little rougher on the nose, which is a disaster if you're blowing your nose a lot.
Do you watch sad movies?

I'm in Charlotte, NC. I went to Trader Joe's this morning during "Senior Hours". I arrived at ~7:50 and was about 15th in line. An employee came out to talk to us and mentioned that they had TP, paper towels and hard sanitizer and to ask an employee if you wanted any of those items. They had them up front so that they could monitor supplies and announce the supply status to people waiting outside in line. There were of course purchase limits. That is the first time I have seen hand sanitizer in a store since the crisis began. I have some on order through an online supplier but I'm worried that my order will be delayed or cancelled so I bought the one bottle I was permitted at Trader Joes.

They also mentioned that they were fully stocked in meat and poultry with the exception of organic chicken which was apparently being rationed to the stores. I expect that if it were as easy to store extra meat, fish and protein as it is TP, there would already be shortages across the board right now. But most people have limited freezer space.

I have been doing online orders for my "main" grocery store where I am getting canned and packaged goods and some fresh fruit and produce. The problem is that even though I booked my slot at 5:30 am this morning, I will be picking stuff up next Tuesday. There it has been hit or miss. With my last order I was able to buy a 2 lb bag of flour (a different brand than ordered), but all the varieties of canned soup I ordered were out of stock. (They also cancelled all the cleaning products I requested, although I was rather expecting that).

Have you tried Amazon? We haven't visited a store of any kind in almost 8 weeks. We've had no trouble having TP delivered. Sometimes it takes a few extra days.

No, but I walked into a different grocery store (same company different location) about 2 weeks ago in the early afternoon and they had toilet paper and I bought a pack. The toilet paper shelf was mostly empty, but they had some. I visit my local grocery store on average every other day.
