I used to partipate in a wine board, and this swas one of their ongoing topics. I liked it as I sometimes got inspiration/ ideas about new or at least unfamiliar music that I could later seek out. Granted, it could be old artists or new artists. So for me, new music could simply be something I was unfamiliar with, not exposed to. I go all over the board, but I enjoy music, of many styles, and would definitely enjoy hearing from others about their favorite artists, recordings, albums, CDs, etc.

So feel free to post what you're listening to Right Now, or something that you like that was a recent listen that you'd like to share with the group.

So for me, right now, I'm listening to Miles Davis - Round About Midnight. This is a classic jazz album released in 1955.

The Nocturnes by Chopin is one of my favorites. I listen to his nocturnes frequently, they’re very calming. Also today I listened to Best of Beck by Jeff Beck.

Jeff Beck Appearing Live this Week at Ronnie Scott's If there is any doubt that Beck is the greatest living Rock guitarist, this live performance recorded and videoed back in 2008 will erase it. I was never a fan of Beck until I stumbled across it on late night TV a few years ago. Since then, I've attended a few live performances and, incredibly, he keeps getting better at 70+ years of age. I'm a huge Rush and Neil Peart fan who heard this news as it was breaking here in Canada. Canadian musicians don't usually get much coverage outside of Canada, so it was extremely rare to read coverage in Rolling Stone, The New York Times and The BBC to name a few.

YouTube has some great concert footage, for example https://youtu.be/LWRMOJQDiLU. What a drummer and what a drum kit. I've been revisiting Rush albums on Spotify and YouTube for most of the afternoon and evening, reconnecting with great music from my youth.

As a drummer, I did bust out the Rush albums last night.

Lots of Miles Davis responses; I’ve really been into Ambrose Akinmusire recently. He’s an outstanding trumpet player. I have tickets to see him with Jack DeJohnette in March down in NYC.

At the moment, it is a Baroque piece of classical music. I am located north of Washington D.C and am lucky to pick up, with extreme clarity, both WETA (DC) and WBJC (Baltimore). WETA is more conservative and WBJC is more eclectic. Love them both!
Anybody in other parts of the Bogleheads world have comments about their Classical Music stations?

I listen to more live music than recorded music. One of the side effects of ushering all over town. Right now, it’s Beethoven’s 250th birthday. So...all Beethoven, all the time.

But maybe I’ll bust out some Miles after the concert tonight. Of course tonight’s concert is...Beethoven.

I enjoy good music from all genres, especially jazz (Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Dexter Gordon), blues, salsa, baroque (Bach). Have been listening to Hank Williams, Sr. and a blues artist named Elmore James on Spotify. Also a great Venezuelan (Spanish) vocalist named Nella and the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band (blues).

I also enjoy listening to NPR's "Tiny Desk Concerts" where they showcase big names (e.g. Sting) along with lesser known artists of all genres. Really interesting for those who want to hear fresh, eclectic music.
