Find the serial number for your dryer, google for a part diagram, and then put the part numbers into ebay and/or amazon.

I don't think that's the full model number, they tend to be a lot longer. Look for the nameplate, then go to applianceparts.com or one of many other similar websites.

You can usually find a wiring diagram, exploded view of parts, and maybe some advice on diagnosis and repair.

If you live in a larger city there may even be an appliance parts place nearby. Expect it to be in the cheap part of town.

+1

One trick to get the model number is to use your cell phone to take a picture of the label so you can zoom in on it and read it easier.

You can just google the model number to find lots of parts suppliers.

You can also likely find videos on Youtube that will show you how to change some parts.

You might want to consider if changing the gas valve yourself is a good idea or not. A problem with that could result in a gas leak.

The label should also have a manufacture date which will tell you how old it is. In the pictures it looked sort of old and rusty so it could be time to replace it.

The washing machine at our mountain home is a very old Maytag. The special water fill tube that runs into the tub broke. The model is A206. The search was somewhat tedious -- to me it was the fill hose -- to them it was an Injector Tube. Google search returned many fill tubes/hoses, all wrong. The site www.maytagreplacementparts.com had a list of the parts for this model, along with a picture of the actual part. The part number was 206154. It was readily available from multiple sources.

Armed with a part number, I ordered it from an distributor house that had an Ebay storefront at a much better price. The part arrived this week.

Do not carry the part

Sometimes that happens. Try another website, and/or try for a larger assembly.

If you strike out it may be time for a new dryer.

By the way, if you mess with the gas lines be sure you know how to remake/ tighten the connectors and be sure to do a leak test.

Special order.

Question? Does the pilot stay on? If yes, then it likely a control/interlock issue, not a gas valve issue.

Keep in move that many generations of Maytag dryers likely use the same gas valve or thermocouple.

Also realize that the original part number is likely replaced by a newer part number or several, depending on how old.

I highly recommend going to the appliance blog websites for specific assistance. Some of the sites sell the parts to pay their bills, but regardless of where you buy, they can help you.

Tip: Also check thermocouple condition and its connections before replacing parts.

Good site I looked them up Maytag does not make either part anymore. Not a good sign. I am going to take the thermocouple off tomorrow and have a close look at it.

Looks to me like that part's discontinued.

Did a little looking, don't see any replacement part number.

Saw something similar on ebay, but different part number... https://www.ebay.com/c/1201576167

I have in the past been able to shine up a thermocouple with a little fine sandpaper and get it to work again...

A clue from Matytag and Parts select. Others have the same....

"HELP – Where can I get this part?
If we have marked the part you need as Not Available, it means:

The manufacturer no longer sells the part
We can no longer get it from any of our suppliers
There is no substitute for the part available to us
We don't know of any other source for the part
Unfortunately, even if you contact us we won't be able to help"

Partselect...
"Sorry, this part is No Longer Available at PartSelect.com, which means:

The part is no longer sold by the manufacturer.
The manufacturer does not stock any substitute parts to replace this one.
We cannot obtain the part through any other means."

Based on the unavailability of the part from various sources, start thinking about a full replacement.

Maybe I'm doomed to a fiery death, but I've replaced several thermocouples that failed with ones from my junk box. Whenever I'm at a garage/estate sale and see a thermocouple, I pop it in my box. I believe I've got several that claim to be "universal" units; they have different mounting options. Maybe take the failed thermocouple to a HVAC place and see what they have? I also had one that needed the place it connected to the gas valve cleaned as it was full of corrosion.
Disclaimer: I am just a random idiot on the Internet and will probably die from repairing my gas, my electric, my brakes, or eating expired canned goods. Be warned!

This is a different one the middle of the thermocouple pops out and pushes a rod to open the gas for the pilot. https://i.imgur.com/xsSocPJ.jpg

You seem to have thermocoupler issues - dryer, heater. Time to buy new appliances / devices before you explode. :D
