Google Drive Search Question

Post by Deadwood » Mon Nov 11, 2019 9:02 am

So I have a rather large collection of documents stored in google drive. I have been using the search feature to find documents that have a certain word (e.g., oz) and then edit the document to replace that word (e.g., ounces).

Anyways, the problem I am having is that documents continue to appear in the search long after I have replaced the word. I mean months after.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious. Any suggestions?

I'm guessing if you open the document where you changed "oz" to "ounce", clicked on menu-bar: FILE>VERSION HISTORY>SHOW VERSION HISTORY
You would see that the word "oz" does still exist in the document, but as a historical version of it... I'm guessing that's where the search is finding it.

That appears to be it. Thanks. I knew I was missing something.
