Receipt and document scanning app for Android

I heard about people who take pictures of all their mail when they open it, then throw it away. I think they have document scanning apps that make this easier.

On my work phone, I have an expense report app that automatically detects the edges of the receipt, crops it and corrects the geometry. My banking app does the same when I scan checks.

I want an app that scans documents like that, but just automatically saves them to certain folders like receipts, bills, medical, etc. does anyone have something they like?

Even for digitizing existing paper documents where quality is not important, this would be much faster than a slow flatbed scanner.

The two that I know of are Microsoft Office Lens and Google Drive.

For Google Drive, you'd have to open the appropriate folder before scanning, and I don't think Office Lens supports automatic categorization, but both apps take good scans. They're also free and created by reputable companies, which is a plus

I'm not looking for automatic categorization or OCR or anything. Actually I would prefer to avoid having yet another company reading my document data. I could use Google drive or Dropbox or anything.

No certain what you are saying here. Did the prior posts not provide you feedback? Did you look at the offerings in the link I shared? Have you done your own web search? What else do you need?

Cheers

I tried Google drive on my phone. I think it's going to do what I need. I will report back once I have a workflow.
