Do you notify Social Security if you leave the country for more than a month? You are supposed to do this. It seems like a lot of trouble if you are just going for a 6 week vacation somewhere. Do you notify them? What happens if you don't notify them?

No you don’t. There was a thread on this last year. The requirement isn’t intended for people enjoying vacations. Move out of the country and take up residence there would be a different story.
