breathable office shoes

Post by crypto11 »

Any good recommendation for a breathable office shoe?
My feet are so hot during the summers in the office, no matter how cold the AC is set to.

It might help if you indicate whether this is a shoe for a man or a woman.

Big fan of the ØriginalGrand Wingtip Oxford from cole haan. I walk a few miles during the course of a business day and these are great. We are jeans casual and typically wear them with seven for all mankind jeans so unsure if that is an option for you but these are light and breathable.

Edit - assumed mens.

The only shoes really breatheable enough for me are flip flops, but obviously you cant wear these to work 🙂. I aerate and cool my feet down by using a tiny fan on the floor at my desk.

Allbirds are reputedly very breathable, though I don't know if you would count them as office shoes. You could set a new fashion at work...

If you can get away with sports shoes, try some salomons

As others have noted, need more info here. Are you male or female and are you looking for dress shoes or some other type? What kind of socks do you wear?

Banana Republic has shoes with Ortholite insoles - which are leather and wick away moisture, keeping the foot very dry. I like.

About 20-30% of the people at my work were sandals or flip flops. Mostly with sock. It's ugly but it works for them.. I guess.

Birkenstocks with socks were popular in the 1990s in silicon valley. It's comfortable and breathable.

How about a Sperry boat shoe in linen? I think it looks presentable enough for an office where you wear jeans.

Allbirds are also all the rave now, if you think they look ok.

I worked in tech. Anyone who wanted breathable wore flip flops.

Men’s? Women’s? Full dress up? Office casual? REI chic?
Yes, I’m really that pedantic.

Probably at the extreme of what might be acceptable, vs flipflops or closed toe sandals, is Crocs sometimes makes oiled leather topped crocs, black and choc brown. So yes its a croc, but not colored rubber. You still have the big vents, just wear a dark sock.
