Why is this cabin so inexpensive?

Post by peterwantstosave » Thu Jun 13, 2019 2:15 pm

Friends,

I like to look at Zillow for fun. Can you help me understand why this cabin is so inexpensive?

<https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1-Tb ... 64665_zpid>

It seems like a mistake for the price to be so low. I know nothing formal about real estate, but most on the board are much smarter than I

What am I missing?

Listing says "Cabin to moved". Reading thru the poor English, are they saying the cabin is for sale but not the lot; i.e. the buyer is expected to remove the building from it's location?

Somebody died there or since it doesn't have a real address, is just a placeholder listing probably used by the agent to list new properties.

My guess is that it should state, Cabin to"be" moved. May be that they are only selling the cabin and you supply the land. That is why the address is To Be Determined??????

To be moved - they want it off their property. Should be free, realistically, as it will cost them a lot to demolish it.

You’d be buying the cabin only ..... it’s to be moved from its current location at your cost is the way I read it.

First, Zillow says
The list price and Zestimate® for this home are very different, so we might be missing something.
. It also says it was built in 1777, so there maybe multiple errors. The writeup says that the furnace is not included. The land could be leased. If interested why not call the listing agent (the number is on the zillow) and ask them.

?

They have some other listings and they accurately state "to be moved" so looks like a typo.

Doesn't look like a 1777 building to me. Houses to be moved are usually sold for like $1.

You gotta watch people. I was looking at an investment property through Facebook Marketplace in my town. Most likely the guy was a wholesaler and didn't even own the house. He wanted $42000 for a small crappy rental house.

About 3 weeks later, I drove by and the city was demolishing the house and planting grass on the lot. So...either the owner didn't pay taxes or whatever.

LEsson learned.

First off, this is not a cabin.
It is essentially a camper/travel trailer made to resemble a cabin.

It also must be moved from it's current location, and the furnace must be purchased separately.

I don’t think the price is low.
