Avoiding Dealership for Replacement Honda Pilot Key

Ugh.
I've got a 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L.
I've lost one of the two keys -- not a clue, as I thought my wife had it and she thought I had it -- the key has unlock/lock buttons for the door, as well as a button to open the back hatch.
I haven't called the dealership yet, but from what I've read getting a replacement key programmed at the dealership can be pricey ($300-500). I'd like to avoid this if at all possible by ordering a replacement key online and programming it to the car myself. I've seen videos where you can program the lock/unlock for the car pretty easily, but getting the key cut and the key chip mapped to work on your ignition is another thing entirely.
Is this even possible or am I just sunk?
Also, how long do you let something like this bother you before moving on... really bothering me right now to have literally thrown away a couple hundred dollars (potentially).
