AT&T U-Verse - U200 Package with two boxes and 100 mbps Internet: $125 (this includes tax)
Cricket Wireless - two iPhones with 5 GB per month on each phone: $70

Total: $195*

*Both of these bills are charged onto a Chase Ink credit card and earn 5x points. The points earned are then transferred to a Chase Sapphire Reserve Card and then transferred again to a travel partner such as Southwest or United Airlines. We do this maybe twice a year. Doing this effectively lowers the charges above by $15-$20 per month.

Currently pay:

$74 per month for cable with HD channels and 200 MBS internet from Hawaii Telecom. We receive 3 premium channel packages STARZ, showtime and HBO as well as all the sports channels they offer which I don’t think cost extra.

$140 per mont for 3 cell phones unlimited data with T mobile but will be changing to verison once we leave HI. We own our phones and find that owning provides flexibility avoiding contacts. The $140 is a variety of different options merged onto one bill with autopay to save a little ($15-20 per month). I could do better probably but like the current service.

That’s it. $214 per month. We also have amazon prime, but that is much more than just streaming for us.

have never paid for cable tv; we don't watch much but have an antenna and Amazon Prime
Xfinity wireless on a per-gig basis is generally $12-$25 per month for the two of us
I'm actually paying $25 for a landline number at present, but will convert that to another option soon

$86 Landline phone and DSL internet (AT&T)
$41 Service for two cellphones (Consumer Cellular; phones purchased separately)

No monthly fee for TV (OTA antenna and a TiVo with lifetlme subscription)

Sometime soon we'll probably switch to Spectrum for internet-only service (faster than AT&T), which will be about $60-70, but save us $31 on our AT&T bill.

Cell (Consumer Cellular),2 lines, unlimited talk/text, 2 GB shard data: $50.00
Internet (Comcast), 50 mB/sec: $30 (into pricing, will go to $50 in April)
Netflix streaming: $11.00
Over-the-air broadcast TV: $0
No land line.

So, that's $91 now or $111 per month once our internet goes full price in April, for core services for which we're charged a monthly bill (and free OTA TV).

We also stream from:

Amazon Prime video: included with our $120 Prime membership
PBS Passport: included with $120 annual donation to local PBS affiliate
Incidental online free stuff: (youtube, TED, some network extras, etc.)

If for this purpose, we converted one-half of the cost our Prime membership and one-half of our annual PBS donation to monthly, that would add $10 per month to the above, though we likely would continue both for other reasons, even in the absence of the streaming services.

So, total of $111 or $121 depending on how you slice the Prime and PBS contribution.

PS -We are not big sports viewers so we don't miss ESPN, etc.

PPS - Initial setup for our OTA broadcast reception was about $250 all-in (outdoor antenna, mount, coax, in-line amp) to connect to existing whole-house coax from prior cable services, That allows us to put TVs on any of the existing cable jacks around the house. It's more than paid for itself by now.

I am so often amazed at how cheap telecommunications expenses are in many locales outside of the US. When I asked Time Warner Spectrum to attach to cable/internet just across the street they came up with a price of $12500.

Directv $106
ATT wireless: 4 Iphones with unlimited and 2 homephone internet devices $265 ( I do get reimbursed $93 for 3 of these devices by DS, DDIL, MIL)

Total $371

Phone: 145.60 monthly for two
Cable: 155.00
Our issue is that we watch a lot of sports and it requires a more complicated set of available channels to get basketball, football, hockey, etc.

$142 for Comcast cable TV + a high speed (not sure how many Mbps) internet package. $11/month for Netflix. Cell phone bill just went from $74/month to ~$140/month for 2 iPhones with a combined data plan of 2 Gb/month, because we just upgraded from our iPhone 6s (getting slow and sick of the poor camera quality) to the iPhone Xr.

Total for all of this is now about $295/month. I REALLY want to cut the cord on cable, and either just use Netflix, Amazon Prime, and over-the-air stations, or at a minimum, add in YouTube TV or Sling.

Are people including their entire payment of the bill on Internet? I ask because mine is $45 month, but The bill is actually $74 month due to numerous fees taxes, surcharges, etc tacked on.
I don't have cable so cannot speak to that. But on all those phone plans are there NO fees above and beyond that featured price you see on ads?

I have mobile phone service through MINT. The price I pay is up front. No added charges, fees. So that is nice and clear.

Look at the streaming services (Hulu Live, YouTube TV, Sling). They carry most of every sports channel - locals, CBS Sports, Your regional Fox Sports (or equivalent), every ESPN Network (including Longhorn network). No rReal reason to pay that much these days and you could easily shave $100+ if that’s the hang up

My cell phone is paid by my employer. My spouse's phone is $40 per month, unlimited call, text and web with simple mobile. Both of us have unlocked iphones. No landline.

No TV, Netflix, Youtube TV etc.

Have a very low speed (probably 3Mbps) Comcast cable internet for $40. Looking for a better internet soon sometime. Any advice on internet will be useful.

Total around $80 per month.

Cable and internet $200 a month
Verizon cell phones - two smartphones 4GB data, $85 per month.

Just made a change on the internet last week: $20/mo (Comcast)
Cable (streaming) : $45/mo (PS Vue)
Cell: $250/year (Mint)

I am amazed when I hear people spending $250+ for cable/internet and over $75 for a single cell line.

I switched from AT&T for internet to Comcast due to an offer running out. I've decided I'll just switch every year if it will save me $300 or $400. They give a good promotion for 12 or 24 months and then jack it up.

You’re paying way too much for TV/Internet, way too much for your wireless service, and the landline is unnecessary when you have so many cell phones.

You could reduce your spend and be able to max out an IRA every year with your savings.

Cable internet 200mbs speed: $49 ( used "google speed test" to test my delivered speed, same speed, about 70mbs, whether paying for 400 mbs speed or 200 mbs speed , so went with cheapest which was 200 mbs)
LandLine: $0 Google voice with Obihai adapter (since 2007)
Wireless- $97 TotalWireless 4 lines, 30Gb shared (plan is 25 gb + TW rewards 5GB if using autopay, TW resells Verizon service but TW is slightly slower & no simultaneous data + voice)
YoutubeTV $40 using roku adapters (5 rokus cost $70 each & YTTV allows 3 simultaneous streams)

How has your freedom Pop experience been?

Currently I have Google Fi, previously had Republic Wireless, before that had AT&T

Even if u don't do freedom Pop free, their prepaid 2gb lte data, unlimited talk / text with taxes is only $13 a month when u buy 12 months. That is far cheaper than anything I've ever seen.

Internet: $44.99 Per Month (10Mbps Down, 1Mbps Up)

Cable: $0 - A little thin antenna gives us all we need - roughly 25ish channels, depends on the weather, haha.

Cell Phone: $0 - Both my wife and I have the FreedomPop free plans.

Nearly 2-years without a single charge. Flawless.

Counting RingPlus, we have been going on almost 3-years of no monthly costs for cell phones :)

Why did you switch from RW to GFI? RW is cheaper than GFI. I'd be interested to know what caused your switch.

We travel internationally a fair bit, and Google Fi can be used very easily internationally (no extra charges, no having to buy a new sim). I also generally like their pay-per-use business model, so i get what i pay for.

Too much! Approximately $400/month. More than my other utilities! I'm working to reduce that. And 10 years ago I had no idea I would have these expenses. It kind of makes me wonder what future expenses might be out there . . .

This is very timely. I cut the cord this morning! The cable dude didn't even bother to make me an offer to stay with them.

Internet -- $60/month
YouTube TV -- $40 (cable co. charged $95)
phone (Consumer Cellular) -- $26

Total monthly = $126 (Yay!)
