Spectrum mobile phone offering

Post by Jeep4Life » Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:08 pm

I'm looking at the ad from Spectrum/Charter Cable regarding their offer for mobile phone service. Has anyone tried this yet? Looking for any insights that might help me save some $$$ by dropping my land line and switching my TracPhone to the Spectrum service.

I was thinking of changing over but it would not really save me as much. At the moment I use Visible which is $40 all in (Verizon Network).

Spectrum has a $45 all in or $14 per GB. If I only could use less the 1 GB I could save $26 bucks a month. But I think I need more than that.

I signed up for Spectrum Mobile the first day it was offered this summer and have been pleased. I pay $14 (total bill after tax is around $15.25) per month for unlimited calling and texting and 1 gig of data. I am also happy with my $20/month Internet account with Spectrum although I just received a notice that the price of my Internet account will rise to $25 soon.

If you don't have a Spectrum internet account, I understand that they charge an additional $10 per month for Spectrum Mobile.

Most of my Mobile use is on wifi. And Spectrum Mobile has built a good network of wifi hotspots.

I too switched from Tracfone and transferred my phone number at no charge.

I recommend it.

Thank you for your feedback. 20 bucks for spectrum internet? How did you get it so cheap? Where I live the cheapest you can get it is $45 in the first year and after that $65 per month. Its crazy.

We have Time Warner Spectrum and got those offers - it was $40 per month, and we did not buy it. We already are paying $138 per month for TV and internet. Our cell phones are basic Tracfones with $50 per year each, all we need.

Got Spectrum for Cable TV and Wifi in NYC.
Have Cricket Wireless, the budget divsion of AT&T, for my cell phone service.
For 35 bucks a month on Auto Pay, I have unlimited text, talk and messaging and 5 Gigs of cellular data a month. You can't get this any cheaper than that.
I use my Spectrum Wifi for calls and internet on my cell phone and free Wifi on the NYC subways.
My refurbished Iphone 6 serves me well without the Bells and Whistles. Much better than that Samsung Galaxy 7 that I junked.

It's not that I didn't believe you, but I'm old enough to check for myself. You are 100% accurate, so unfortunately, I will follow you and say no for me and the DW. Kind of a bummer, I thought they were offering a real deal, not just another scam to suck more money out of customers. So now I am just going to continue looking at alternatives to cable TV, and probably drop the "landline", since it doesn't really provide the robustness a true landline used to offer.
