I'll pick up a few MTM shirts, something I do annually, to refresh/expand my wardrobe.
I'm in the market for a good deal on the PS4 Pro to play PlayStation exclusives (Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted) and complete my set of current gen consoles. There are some great deals on the regular PS4, but with a 4K OLED TV, I would like to get the higher performance model. I might just hold out for the PS5 to come out in a couple years, since my backlog of Xbox exclusives/multiplatform games is pretty long already.

Boy, the prices on 77” OLEDs have come down! It’s all relative I guess, but at <$7k it’s a bargain. Now I wish that I hadn’t bought my most recent TVTravelforFun wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 11:53 am Looking for an OLED 4k TV, 77" or bigger.
Also, what would be the best way to sell a 2-year-old, 65" LED TV? I'm trying to avoid craightlisting it.

But, I did buy a nice stereo over the past couple of weeks, and BONUS, my wife likes it. Martin Logan speakers and subwoofer, Anthem integrated amp with Room Correction (I’m a believer now), and Bluesound Vault music server with TIDAL subscription (also a believer now). Streaming music has really changed, and TIDAL really shines.
I get the FI part but not the RE part of FIRE.
Re: Black Friday 2018
Appliances. The house we bought 1.5 years ago has 2 full kitchens (Fl Keys, upstairs/downstairs configuration which is common there). The 1st floor microwave and range are dead; second floor dishwasher bit the dust months ago.
BF deals are all over so I shopped online and got the best price for a discounted 3-appliance package from Best Buy. Went in Sunday, ordered and they will be delivered Saturday. And I got a 'free' $50 BB gift card which I will use to buy a new printer that we also need at the house.
Holiday shopping for the win!

Black Friday is a perfect day to make a donation to your favorite charities. I like the local food bank this time of year.

Well, I will return from an international trip Thursday night and will likely be rather tired, but I wouldn’t head out to b/m stores anyway.oldcomputerguy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 12:30 pm None. I have never shopped on Black Friday, and never will. I don’t want to join in the madness.
That said, I intend to get a Pixel 3 for $150 off. It was on my shopping list anyway to replace my old Pixel, and I just delayed the purchase in anticipation of Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I am also looking for new large monitor for my Mac. Will have to see if Amazon or any other online store has some decent deals; I am not in a rush.
Actually, the “perfect” (designated by who-knows-who) day for that is Giving TuesdayGlobalviewer58 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 5:36 pm Black Friday is a perfect day to make a donation to your favorite charities. I like the local food bank this time of year.

Only doing planned stuff that I've been putting off to wait for sales:
- Ordered an exercise bike Monday within the first few hours of their once-annual week-long sale
- Took advantage of eBay's "15% off anything" promotion today to get two fermentors
- Buying two small refrigerators to hold above fermentors on Friday when Sam's has them for 22% off
- Ordering my new brewery on Friday during their one-day-per-year sale

I got a new Dot a week or so ago for $1, by signing up for a subscription for Amazon Music. It doesn't appear that I'm obligated to stay with the subscription for any amount of time, although I like it so probably will stay with it.

Thanks, but I wasn't trying to win.catdude wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 5:38 pmYou win, dude. How much is the subscription? I may give that a try...

As for the cost of Amazon Music: $7.99 per month, which is about $2 less than the competition (Apple, Spotify, etc.). There's also a discount (I think) for an annual vs. monthly subscription.

I just bought a sound bar, figuring if the price drops I will ask them to refund it or just return it and re-buy it. I used to keep Discover price protection in mind however they have discontinued this service.

This morning I was looking to buy a 4 by 6 foot rubber mat for my weightlifting room. A big online gym supplier emailed me with a Black Friday Super-duper Blowout price of $69.99, which looked like a superb value. These things are heavy, but not that heavy, yet they add $55.00 shipping, bringing the "Black Friday Doorbuster Blowout" price to $124.99.
I logged on to their website and found the same item, regular "non-Black Friday" price, for $105 and free shipping, plus $6.30 Pa. sales tax (it's apparently shipped from their Pa. warehouse), totaling 111.30.
In other words, the Black Friday sale would have cost me $13.69 more! Be careful out there.

Apples and oranges. TSC has "stall mats." I've used them. They are made from ground up old tires, sort of analogous to wooden particle board. They can stink for a long time after installation, and the edges can flake off into annoying little pieces. Plus, really bad stall mat has uneven thickness, which means uneven edges when two are butted together, which can be dangerous if you're carrying a heavy weight.
The mats I buy from Fitness Factory Outlet are low odor, have consistent dimensions, a textured surface, and do not flake. I have one that is probably 20 years old, and it is like new. They are worth the extra cost, IMO.

I did Black Friday in person once, in 2003, for a computer. Not going to happen again, but I'm kinda glad I had that experience once.
I did buy three movies I wanted to own on Blu-Ray (Spectre, Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman in case anyone is wondering) on Amazon for $4. They were on my watch list for when I thought the price was right, and coupled with Amazon's free shipping in this season, I just hit purchase when they displayed at $4.
I see some of you got a new phone. I'm using my Galaxy S3 still, maybe I should look into sales for a new (to me) phone...
