I was once told that if a parent wants to accomplish things, they must create time rather than find it. Heading this advice I have been waking up around 4am to get in a quick jog, weight lifting (none of the which is anything to brag about, but it is better than nothing), Bible and prayer time, and just a little bit of peace before the never ending errands begin. This new habit had me thinking when other people get up, and what their routines are. Just curious, thank you for your time.
Bed around 1100. Up at 430. I’m blessed with short sleep genetics.
+1 if you sleep longer than 6 hours just sleep faster ; )

During the week around 4:30. It's the only way I can fit in the gym. I go to sleep around 10. I dont nap ever as it makes me feel bad.

I'm a night owl by nature. But I need to be up by 5:00 a.m. on weekdays to have any hope of getting in some exercise, work, housework, packing kids' lunches, etc. before the kids start waking up. And sadly, the exercise thing hasn't been happening lately due to my younger kid's poor sleeping.

Personally for me drinking coffee is something that’s part of my morning breakfast routine so I can’t imagine why I would want to lie around drinking it in bed regardless of who fetches it. Not to mention it seems unhygienic; I don’t eat in my bedroom or bathe in my kitchen etc. This is often presented as a exemplar of marital devotion so perhaps someone can explain why?
The coffe seldom gets consumed while In bed, except perhaps on a weekend; my wife is up (depending on meetings) between 4:45 and 6:00 on weekdays and has to get going. I don’t think it’s any less hygienic than keeping a glass of water on the nightstand. We don’t do breakfast anyway, so she gets to shower and dress with a nice hot cup of coffee without having to come downstairs.

I think, in part, the romance comes from me voluntarily getting up and making the coffee when I could have “slept in” and waved at my wife as she heads out to make a living. This Saturday morning, my loving act was to get up and walk the dog while she enjoys an extra hour or two of needed sleep. She doesn’t need/want jewelry, so it’s what I do.

I know if I got up at 4 am (ie. three hours earlier than my normal time), I would just go to bed at 9 pm instead of midnight.

I am retired. I get up when I wake up. That's usually somewhere between 4 and 8 AM. If I wake up earlier than 4, I do try to get back to sleep.

Go to sleep about 9pm and wake up at 5am whether it's a weekday or weekend. Generally, I feel best when I keep that schedule.

Hit the sack between 10:30 and 11:15 PM. Get up at around 6-6:45 when DW gets up to cook lunch. There are times I wake up at 4-4:30. If I can get back to sleep, I would. Otherwise, get up, consume a warm glass of water and look for something to read i.e. bogleheads.org, books or reflect.
Any day that I have enough sleep, I feel like I can conquer the world and vice versa. My take is sleep is one of the most precious commodities.
