Has anyone used: TaxAct "Expert Review"

Post by new2bogle » Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:43 am

I recently got an email from TaxAct (which I have used for the past ~10 years) about some "Expert Review" they can do on my previous tax forms. Here's the email:
This offer includes a complimentary, one-on-one tax return assessment with an Independent Tax Professional. Your free financial review features:
A fully customized examination of your 2017 tax return.
An explanation of the ways new tax reform may affect your tax circumstances – and changes you could make to improve your financial situation.
A comprehensive discussion addressing how to optimize next year's tax outcome.
An analysis of your overall financial health.
I've always done my taxes (W2 income, rental, RSUs, ESPP, been itemizing so far, probably not for 2018) and never used a CPA. Will a service like this be useful for me or just a waste of time? Only thing I can think of is that they can look over how I am doing my rental home forms, everything else seems fairly straightforward for me, but then again, I've never used a CPA so don't know what I could be missing.

I just got this same promotion. Did you try it out? Anyone else try out this service?
