Slow internet speed question

I pay for 150mbps down. If I hard wire a laptop directly into the cable modem...I get 150mpbs down. its a docsis 3.0 so no issues there.

I have a wireless router...cable modem connects to that. When I hard wire into the wireless router I only get 70mbps down. Its a 10/100 router. If I upgrade to a gig router...will I see 150mbps down when connected to the router? Im not worried about wireless at the moment...Id just like to see something close to 150mbps down when hard wired into the wireless router.

My current setup is...cable modem---wireless router (10/100)---poe switch (10/100)

Even when connected to the switch at the end I get 70mbps (same if im connected to the router.) Im assuming router is bottleneck at the moment...then when I upgrade that to gig then the switch will be the bottleneck?

yes you will need 10/100/1000 to alleviate all bottlenecks assuming you want to remain wired.
