Lease a Silverado 4x4 extended cab for $152 month?

Post by z06ray » Tue Jan 09, 2018 5:10 pm

0 down
$152 month
12k miles
V6

I’ve Been wanting a truck back but don’t need one (lot of family around with them). The price has lured me in even though I️ really don’t like the idea of leasing.

My wife would be driving this and selling her paid for 2005 BMW X3 with 150k miles for around 5 grand.

Should Ii think twice?

Also, currently have one other lease in the house that is sixty / month. Ii scour car deals and this is the best I️ have seen lately.

I know the advice you'll get on here is to never lease, but I think $0 down and $152/month is a great deal. If you like the truck do it.

If it's a 36 month lease you'll pay $5,472 to drive a brand new truck for three years. I think that's pretty cheap.

You've been wanting a truck but your wife is going to drive it??? On that point I would only do that if she was more thrilled with the idea than you. If she does want it why not put $5k down on the purchase of the truck? If she's not thrilled and is just being supportive then don't do it.

Seems like a good deal on a lease.

Just make sure there are no dealer doc fees, acquisition fees, sales tax on the CCR, etc. I think you're going to pay DMV fees. In CT that will run you $200-$300. Still sounds like a good deal though.

Great deal, why not? Personally, I would see what the V-8 costs. I despise large vehicles with small engines.

You want a truck, but your wife is going to sell her luxury car and drive your truck? Does your wife want to drive a full size pickup? They can be a bear to park, reverse, and can be tough to climb. I once was rented a Ram HEMI and often found myself parking greater lengths from the door to avoid tight spaces.

Sign me up!

Just make sure you check the GM Financial lease terms regarding dispositions fees. There's probably a $395 fee at lease end, assuming you just turn it in and don't lease/purchase another GM vehicle.

What are you going to use the truck for?
I have a Silverado 4x4 Extended cab with the 5.3 V8 engine, I would not go with a V6.

The ONLY thing that I care about is the cost per mile. You are NOT leasing the truck for THREE YEARS, you are buying the truck's use for 36.000 miles.

How stable are your circumstances? Will your commute allow you to keep your miles down. I have had a lot of friends take a similar lease just to take a job 50 miles away and end up with 75k miles on the odometer after 36 months.

If you keep your miles close to 36k miles, it sounds like a good deal. If you can't, it might be the most expensive vehicle you have owned.

I find that lease price hard to believe. Are you sure it's not some teaser ad that, according to the fine print, only applies to one specific stock number vehicle that just happens to be already sold when you show up at the dealership? The offer on Chevy's website is $199/mo for 24 mo with $4,119 down for a 2018 4X4 V6 LT unless you are a current GM lessee, then it's same price per mo. but half the down payment.

If that is a legitimate deal in writing, not an ad, I'd take it in an instant. I don't tow, so the V6, while not as much power as I'd prefer to have, would get the job done.

Wow!

What region is this lease deal in?

Sounds incredible. If these numbers are legit, and I were in the market for a truck I'd jump all over this. But I'd want the 5.3 at a minimum. Not the 6.

I would bet significant cash that the 152/month with 0 down leasing deal with no other out of the ordinary costs on a new Silverado 4x4 is 100% horse poop.

I don't believe a lease like this is possible. That's around $5,500 over the course of 3 years. There isn't a truck made that doesn't lose at least $5,500 over the course of 3 years. Hell most lose $5,500 within an hour of driving them off the lot.

would you please share this on the relevant forum at leasehackr [sic] dot com?

there are many others who would be interested in a similar deal and how you qualified (lease loyalty/lease conquest/etc)

especially on a 4x4 (most truck leases at your price are for 4x2)

thanks!

Is this a 2017?

The fact that everyone is saying get the V8 might be why this thing is still sitting on the lot. There is possibly $8-10k incentive coming from GM to dealer to move this thing, so that might account for the deal.

If that is truly the out the door deal, it sounds great if that vehicle meets your needs.

A couple of years ago there were some 24-month "one-pay" Cruze leases for all of $600 or so.

Never underestimate the power of proper incentives to move stale product.

I'd love to hear what discounts you were provided or negotiated in order to lease a new car for 60/month and 0 down. Please provide details, including make and model as well as lease terms - it will definitely be educational to those of us that like to drive a hard bargain.
