Windows 10 [Looking for games]

Post by Esther » Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:10 pm

I recently downloaded Windows 10 and am pleased with it except for one thing. I lost the games I enjoyed such as Solitaire. They are no longer available. I did see web sites saying you could download them to Windows 10 but am concerned about safety. Has anyone tried this? Thanks for any advice.

I got mine from winaero.com and have had no issues.

Download them from the Windows App Store and then you won't have to wonder if the source is safe.

This thread is now in the Personal Consumer Issues forum (games). I also retitled the thread for clarity.
To some, the glass is half full. To others, the glass is half empty. To an engineer, it's twice the size it needs to be.

Ton's of free and/or free trial games in the windows app store built into Windows 10.
I also like Steam http://store.steampowered.com/
Don't be scared off by the hard-core games on Steam, there are plenty of low-cost games of all types and they run great specials where you can grab a bunch of games for $5.

I found that the "Microsoft Solitaire Collection", which is a "Trusted Windows Store app" and available for free from the Windows store, runs great on Windows 10. There are all the old favorites such as Klondike (regular solitaire), Spider and Free Cell, plus it adds some new twists such as daily challenges. It is online play, but you don't need to create an account if you don't want to save your statistics.

I downloaded Solitaire from the Winero and it seems to be working fine. I hope this is a "safe" site. Thanks for all who gave advice.

For a safe source of multiple types of games, check out steam.
