You might try an app:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/to ... d-flowers/
This web site might be helpful to get someone to id it:
http://www.mygarden.org/plants/plantifier
Apparantly flowerchecker sends the picture of the unknown plant to actual botonists: (costs $1)

Or, I could ask my wife who is a master gardener. She thinks it might be Sensitive Brier. Schrankia nuttalii, a member of the pea family (fabaceae)

Do the leaves close when touched?

This native plant is know by many names, each one quite descriptive of the plant's unique characteristics! It is a trailing vine, which is covered with recurved prickles, earning it the name “Cat's Claw”. The leaves, which are also edged with prickles, fold up when they are touched...this is the reason this wildflower is sometimes called the Sensitive Brier or the Bashful Brier! Impressive balls of color occur in congested bunches when the flowers are in bloom. Grows well in prairies, or hanging over a wall!

I think you have your answer, but if you want confirmation, contact your county Ag Agent - this is one of the services they provide. Your pictures by email should be all they need.

Don't know your Ag Agent? Just google your county name and Ag Agent and the office should pop up.

Yes that is it! Thank you guys. :D

Further googling shows that is not necessarily considered a weed but more like a desired flower. I could be wrong. :?

That looks like Sensitive Brier. I used to plant it for fun when I was a kid. It folds its leaves when you touch. Very interesting. I would love to get some!
