Anyone know of places to purchase canes
I know, it is un-BH, but I don't want just the average pine hospital cane....
I am in early stages after full knee replacement and was wondering what locations might be suggested. I have looked at Amazon, and a few other sites.
any ideas?

1. Google "wood cane"
2. Click on "Shopping" link at top of resulting page
3. Shop

You can buy a generic one or buy one custom made for your height and build. I made my FIL one for Christmas. He has had several back surgeries over the years and now needs one for balance. His has a brazilian cherry shaft with a mahogany handle and maple and purple heart accents.
He shows it off all the time.

You'll have much better results if you search for "pimp cane" instead of "wood cane"FrugalInvestor wrote:1. Google "wood cane"

Wal-Mart, CVS, Rite Aid. They all sell adjustable aluminum single point canes. If you are on Medicare they may pay for a device. Although if you received a walker at the hospital after your surgery you most likely will not qualify. I would still call and check with your insurance company. Don't worry though. They're pretty cheap and come in all styles.

Edit: Make sure your cane is set right for your height. Your physical therapist can help you with this.

Just about any drug store ,the pharmacy section of many grocery stores, Walmart, etc. They 're inexpensive and all do the job unless you want a 'designer' cane.
The surest way to know the future is when it becomes the past.

SSCRITIC-- the problem with that is they might figure out we have a seven-fig portfolio, currently expecting under a 2.5% SWR, and start coming for "loans", etc.
The "Big Bubba" without logo is just a bit too large, not real hardwood, but would keep them at bay
BTW, I've already seen the local Walgreens, CVS, Medline, etc stuff --- not even thinking of the collapsable aluminum -- was looking for specific sites, if one knows of them.
off now, got to take my warfarin and oxycodone....alas, without cabernet chaser....

Google brought me here, but you probably shouldn't buy in your drug induced stupor. In that state, you should stick to low cost index funds.

Thanks, I'll look at it....
Alas, I've got some time. still using the walker... since I'm only late 50's, not the look I wanted... but I've been though PT before as two years ago, the other knee's ACL went, actually it was already gone-- just as this one was as i expected-- over 30yrs without cartiledge (locked up from sports injury) and well over 14 years bone-on-bone. Orthopedic said there was absolutely no question... i knew.

Our local Goodwill has quite an assortment of canes, including wooden ones.

My teachers used bamboo. Oh wait, different cane.

Infomercials make it questionable in my mind, but a couple of friends like the Hurry Cane.

Looks like the OP already ordered one, but wanted to mention I used the fashionable canes website for mine. The key is to properly size it and pick the right handle type for your needs.

Re: Anyone know of places to purchase canes
For those suggesting walgreens etc. assuming you just want a generic adjustable cane amazon is far far cheaper even considering next day shipping. They are $12 on amazon (call it $20 with next day shipping) and $30-$40 at walgreens etc.

With 5.99 standard shipping. And they have plenty in store for under $20.
