According to the good folks at ATT the S4 will be available for purchase on Thurs. I've got one ordered for pick-up.

Hopefully you'll post your thoughts on the S4 after you've had a chance to put it through its paces, Jerilynn.

I thought the announcement is on March 14. Last week I was at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and Samsung was not showing the S4 there. I doubt it will be available this Thursday... but let us know if you get one!

I actually dont like the S3, the UI is really clunky on mine. MY S2 is buttery smooth.

According to my math, the S4 will be twice as good as the S2.

I wouldn't speculate before the launch. There are already so many rumors going on. Samsung has now gotten "Applitis" wherein they wont reveal anything before the release. Too bad I cant wait without any confirm news.

Saw an article in the paper.

The S4 will have a bigger screen, higher resolution, weigh less, be thinner, have a better camera, faster processor, better battery life and will run Android 4.2.2 (vs 4.1.1 for the S3).

I've got one ordered (in red, of course), no definitive timetable, they say mid to late April. I will be the first chick on the block that has one and will report back to the bogleheads.

Hopefully Samsung has improved the battery life over the S3. I finally broke down and bought an extended life battery, which has worked very well, but if I put it in my back pocket and don't wear a belt my pants keep sliding down. The thing feels like it weighs 4 lbs now, but that is better than having to charge it every night.

Is it shipping with an OLED display or LCD? I have read conflicting reports.

For my Galaxy Note 2, I just got a spare battery and spare battery charger. Then I just keep the spare battery+charger where I might need it most. The whole package was rather cheap, less than $40 for the battery+charger, so I could just keep one at work, one at home, etc. if I really felt the need. In practice, I've found it's easier just to have multiple chargers around and just have the one spare battery+charger package in my fanny pack for the rare occasions that there's not an electrical outlet nearby.

I used to run a stable CyanogenMod 10 on my phone but then I found out that company security policy forbids it so it was a choice between CM10 and being able to expense my data plan. I regretted not getting a Nexus 4 after that :(

It has oled screen of course - using green phosphorescent oleds for the first time too which supposedly gives 25% better battery life.
