Thought you would all like to know this

Post by larryswedroe »

I apologize if have mentioned this before, memory slipping, but as Bogleheads I thought you would all appreciate this story

We just moved into new quarters and have five main conference rooms for meetings with clients. The five rooms were named after the people who most influenced our investment thinking

(Adam) Smith Room
(William) Sharpe Room
(Ken) French Room
(Gene) Fama Room
and (John) Bogle Room

Best wishes

Tribute to Mr. Bogle and other great financial contributors

Post by Taylor Larimore »

Hi Larry:

It is a clever idea to name your conference rooms after five of the most influential persons in finance. Needless to say, Bogleheads are particularly delighted to see their mentor recognized.

We hope that you like your new quarters and we thank you for contributing your knowledge to this forum.

Larry,

I take it you used the surnames so you didn't have to tell your clients you'll meet them in the John :)

Cool story.

Nice going Larry.

(Adam) Smith Room
(William) Sharpe Room
(Ken) French Room
(Gene) Fama Room
and (John) Bogle Room
Nice that you had enough rooms so that Fama and French did not have to share a room.

No (Harry) Markowitz Room?

(Clever idea on the room names, by the way.)

You obviously have not been paying attention to Larry's posts, especially his long macro-economics discussions with "richard".

Now you have something in common with the National Constitution Center. Good company to keep!

I wonder if your clients would have appreciated a cut in their fees rather than a nicer room in which to chat with you. :)

Just kidding, enjoy the new digs.

Are there just folding chairs and a card table in the Bogle room because, hey, costs matter?

Do meetings in the Bogle room have their own, managed agenda, or do they just try to mimic as closely as possible the events in all the conference rooms as a whole?

Do the tables in the Fama and French rooms have any perceptible tilt?

Do meetings in the Smith room always run late because the clock has invisible hands?

Its really a simple choice when you think about it.

How would this look:

The 200 Day Moving Average Room.
The Daytraders Room.
The Hot Hand Room.
The Gold Room.
The Fibonacci Retracement Room.

Thanks

We all those fancy rooms with star names I want to know about the crib. ( I mean house.)

We all know Jack built Taylor's house. I can just see entering and Larry saying " this is my house ." We already know Larry is the man , but his new digs seals the deal. Congrats.

That series is wonderful, thanks for recommending it. Unfortunately it ends too early - need the one with the edits through, say, 2050.
