I noticed that my prediction (1415.93) is acquiring "neighbors" in the ever-narrowing range. It appears that the best strategy is to wait until late on 10 January and then bet in the middle of the widest gap.

Unless, of course, one actually knows where S&P 500 will end up.

I totally know where the S&P will end up! Why else would I participate in this contest? I'm not worried about the prognosticators around me, because they don't know what I do: 1387.87.

My SWAG at this is 1389.6. Any deviations from this value is due to the random actions of wayward investors! :)

I think I'll go with

1447

And I came to this number completely independently through rigorous research and agonizing thinking, viewing all market news channels and watching CNBC in my sleep.

And I'm still sandwiched in between 1446 and 1448!

Since I won't bother to change it during this edit, it shows you how much value I put in that number.
