New wiki videos explain Bogleheads investment philosophy

Post by Stickman » Sat Jun 27, 2020 11:55 am

I have substantially updated the first three of the ten videos in the wiki that explain the Bogleheads® investment philosophy to beginner investors. Comments welcome in this thread.

My heart sank in March 2020 when I witnessed people panic-sell after being seduced into stocks by the long bull market. These people were over-exposed to stock market risk. These three improved videos try to paint a more informative and useful picture for beginners to help them assess how to approach their big goals as responsible investors.

Eventually, I’ll bring all ten up to the same level of quality. I welcome advance comments and suggestions for those as well.

Haven't watched them yet but looks like a great resource, especially to point younger investors toward. Some of them tune out when they hear the word "read." Thanks for doing these videos.

Looks good aside from the mantra of keeping bonds in tax advantaged.

That's cool! I regularly point people to those great videos during local chapter meetings, so well done!

Thank you Rick for the hard work with this update. The original videos were my first intro into the Bogleheads philosophy.

Excellent, I just sent my oldest this link, who just started a new job with retirement benefit and opened a Roth IRA and this is ideal. Thank you sir!
